That\u2019s why you need to ensure their safety on the way to your new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the biggest risk for your electronics during the removal?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the removal, you need to make sure that your electronics are well secured from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>mechanical damage \u2013 which can be a result of dropping the package while carrying to the van or hitting some bumps on the road,<\/li><li>water \u2013 even a small amount spilt on the back of your TV or a DVD player can cause irreversible damage,<\/li><li>extreme heat or cold \u2013 just imagine what could happen to your laptop\u2019s battery if you left it for long enough in the scorching heat outside!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These factors are responsible for most damage that can happen in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to secure electronics for moving \u2013 ground rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to make sure that neither your TV nor the laptop is damaged when you move houses, follow the basic rules that are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use original boxes if possible<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re one of those people who save electronics\u2019 original packaging, you may consider yourself lucky! Using the boxes and packing materials that were provided with a device by its producer is the safest thing to do. Why so? The answer is simple: your TV or video game console has been shipped in it from the factory and went through many warehouses until you got it without being damaged. So make sure to use the original materials every time you can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have the original box, don\u2019t worry! You can easily gather essentials, such as sturdy carton boxes, a lot of bubble wrap and a roll or two of Scotch tape. They\u2019ll be enough to pack any electronics you own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Make sure the device is turned off<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That rule applies mostly to laptops since they can be put into sleep mode instead. Not only does it drain the battery, but also makes the notebook more susceptible to a short circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unplug any accessories and cords<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It may seem that it\u2019s easier to leave them plugged in but they may cause trouble during the removal and make the packing more challenging. If you don\u2019t want to mix up the cables and accessories or lose them, make sure you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>unplug the cords one by one and label them (you can use post-it notes or some sticky paper tape for it!),<\/li><li>roll the cords and zip-tie them \u2013 that way they won\u2019t get tangled,<\/li><li>either pack them together with the devices they go with or put them into one box, but in separate, labelled zip lock bags. That way they won\u2019t get lost!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remember about wrapping your electronics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter if you need to pack the TV securely, or move a gaming console, you need to wrap them in bubble wrap or, alternatively, newsprint. Those materials will prevent scratching the device\u2019s case or screen in the process. They\u2019ll also provide additional shock absorption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pack every device separately<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t put a laptop and a computer monitor in one box. Use two separate boxes instead. If you don\u2019t your devices will damage each other, especially when you hit the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use extra protection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you secure the space between the boxes with electronics. To do that, you can use special moving pads, sheets, towels or blankets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Secure the TV and other electronics inside the moving track<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that the TVs, monitors and similar devices should be put in an upright position and, if possible, elevated.
